Frequently Asked Questions

  • I've been hearing the term "Virtual Assistant" a lot lately, but I'm not sure exactly what it means. Would you explain?

Sure! Let me give you the definition offered by AssistU: "A VA is a highly trained and skilled administrative professional who, as a support and growth partner to entrepreneurs, business owners, and busy people, provides high level, long-term collaborative administrative assistance, without having to be physically present in the client's office."

In other words, a VA can help you with all the 'busy work' that never seems to get done, plus become your 'partner for success' by offering you support and assistance in the growth of your business. And all this is done remotely through the wonders of modern technology and without geographical boundaries.

  • I'm a personal coach. Would someone like me be able to use your services?

Absolutely! VAs work with smart, successful people of all kinds -- authors, salespeople, consultants, coaches, executives, entrepreneurs, etc. VAs provide the ideal solution for professionals who want to live a more balanced life and enjoy more free time.

  • Is there any benefit to using a VA instead of hiring an employee?

There are several benefits. A big one is that VAs are Independent Contractors, which means you don't have the associated costs of an employee, e.g., insurance, Workers' Comp, Social Security, retirement, vacation, sick leave. etc. Another benefit is you don't need to provide office space or equipment. And best of all, VAs are interested in your success and will do all they can to make your life easier.

  • What type of software and equipment do you use?

I use Windows XP Professional, Peachtree Complete Accounting, Quicken, Quickbooks, MS Office Professional, Turbo Tax Premier, ACT!, and Time Trax (which I use to track my time). All software is updated regularly.

I have a stand alone photocopier, Fax machine, laser printer and desk-jet printer.

My files are protected by Norton Antivirus and Ad-Aware. Files are backed up each week to a separate hard drive.
